Termiten werden auch in Europa ein Thema. Wohl dem, der gut vorbereitet ist. Eine Möglichkeit ist die erste europäische Termitenkonferenz am 4.2.2010 in Paris. Hier die Einladung:

The first ever European-based termite market conference is to be held on 4 February 2010 at the Novotel, Bercy in Central Paris, France. The event is being organised by PestBusiness.com and is sponsored by Edialux France. This tailor-made one-day conference will enable delegates to hear from experts not only from France, but from across the world, how termites are a rapidly increasing European threat. Termite control is the largest single market sector within the global pest control industry. Traditionally termites were not a pest problem within Europe. However, over the last ten years termite infestations have expanded out of their traditional South Western France hot-spots and are now being reported as far north as Paris, as well as in Spain and Italy. Climate change may well be the cause, but awareness of the problem has dramatically risen, as has an increasing array of products being developed, registered and introduced specifically for this market.  At this one-day conference delegates will be able to discover the size of the problem from market analysts, to exchange views and good practice with industry experts and technicians and to hear from manufacturers details of their relevant products and technologies. Commenting on this new conference, Serge Simon, director of Edilaux France said: "For Edialux the market is growing and this event will allow our customers to hear from not only the French experts but from those from around the world in one conference."Announcing the conference Rob Fryatt, one of the PestBusiness.com partners said: "From the work AIS and Xenex Associates have been doing over the last couple of years for clients looking at entering this market in Europe, it became clear that there was a need for a regular conference where all involved in the termite industry could share expertise and ideas. The concept is so exciting that we have been able to attract experienced presenters from not only France, but from across the world to share their views at the event".Amongst the speakers, Rod Parker from AIS in London, will provide an overview of the global termite market, Rob Fryatt of Xenex Associates will explore the evolution of the market whilst identifying future trends, then Marc Jaquel from the French FCBA Institut Technologique will review product developments for the market in France. An array of international speakers will provide a global perspective to the problem. Consultants Dr Ted Granovsky will review the US market, Mahendran the Asian, whilst Peter May from BioProspect in Australia will evaluate the role of biopesticides. Finally, Serge Simon from Edialux will draw all the threads together when he responds on how the French market is likely to develop.Language will not be a barrier as the presentations will be in a mix of English and French with full simultaneous translation. Lunch is included. To accompany the conference, AIS one of the partners in PestBusiness.com and the leading specialist research company in non-crop markets, will produce an exclusive Termite Market Report which will be available at a preferential price to the pre-registered delegates. All the key papers from the day will be available upon delegate registration. The March/April edition of International Pest Control will include a special event supplement. The single day event will be held at the Novotel, Bercy in central Paris on 4 February 2010. Registration at £320 or ?350 through the PestBusiness.com website (www.PestBusiness.com).
